THE Fremantle Business Awards have been launched for 2019.
The Fremantle Chamber of Commerce will hold the black tie gala on Friday June 7.
Viewpoint managing director Julius Jeppe, whose business won the outstanding new business award last year, said nominating was a great opportunity.
“Our team had been working extra hours and keeping up with a rapid pace for a few months prior to the awards,” he said.
“The awards present a great opportunity to not only reward them with a red carpet event, but also meet some of the other businesses around Fremantle.”
He said seeing their name appear on three big screens and hearing themselves announced as a winner was fantastic.
“I suggest to any other companies entering or thinking of entering this year to be prepared and write a speech, regardless of whether you think your company is going to win or not,” he said.
“Its great to be called up to accept the award, not so great when you fumble through an acceptance speech.”
Since the award win last year Mr Jeppe said they have turned their focused to their own internal product development and were recently announced as one of Westpac’s 200 Businesses of Tomorrow.
Fremantle chamber chief executive Danicia Quinlan said it was an exciting time for development in Fremantle.
“As a Chamber we are so proud to have the opportunity to bring together and reward our most unique, distinctive and inventive business leaders,” she said.
“We have revamped the awards program this year to focus on the fresh approach and growth opportunities within Fremantle, and what makes Fremantle businesses truly distinct and unique.”
