THE Fremantle Business Improvement District (BID) has a new interim chief executive.

Nicci Workum, who has worked with BID for the last two and a half years, will fill the role vacated by outgoing chief executive Tim Milsom.

She said she believed Fremantle had a range of fantastic and unique businesses and that she had a good understanding of what was required for the job, having sat on the board of several not-for-profit organisations in the past.

“The BID is committed to building on the progress we have made over the last couple of years through our retail programs,” she said.

“We’re looking forward to implementing our new business plan and continuing to work with our members and other stakeholders on the development of innovative strategies to support the Fremantle business community.”

BID chair Karl Bullers said Ms Workum would fill the position during the formal recruitment process.

“Nicci is well placed to step into the CEO role as she has a clear understanding of the way the BID operates and our plans for the next three years,” he said.

“She is an experienced administrator who will be able to ensure our operations run smoothly while we undertake a formal recruitment process for the CEO position.”
