The keen cyclist will jump on his bike for the sixth time in the 2017 Ride for Youth, one of more than 100 who will push themselves over the 4½-day fundraiser for Youth Focus and its work helping young people living with mental health issues.

Having won the Strongman jersey and the King of the Mountain jersey in past rides for his commitment to the cause, Mr James said he could not wait to go around again.

“A lot of friends and family ask why I keep doing it,” he said.

The Ride for Youth is on from March 21 to 25.
