GIVING back to the community is what the Fremantle Rotary business network is all about.

They’ll be achieving this next month with Movie Making a Difference, an open air movie night which will screen Wonder, featuring Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson.

Event co-ordinator Glenn Smith said the rotary wanted to work on a community project.

“We wanted to work on a project together that encompassed helping those in need with the local community,” he said.

“We are hoping to carry out an annual fundraising event for a local organisation.”

All proceeds will be given to the Katina Woodruff Childrens Foundations (KWCF).

Mr Smith said he picked the KWCF because they wanted to make a big impact to a not so well known foundation.

“It’s not just about raising funds but also raising the profile of the KWCF,” he said.

“Small foundations like KWCF always struggle for funding from large government bodies as the work they do is so specialised and mostly goes unnoticed in the community.”
