The woman was re-arrested on Market Street a short time later, but Mr Brooks was seen entering a Toyota Aurion parked at Fremantle Train Station, forcing the driver to drive off.

The driver was allowed to leave the car on the intersection of Stirling Highway and Canning Highway.

After a search, police found the vehicle crashed on Mandurah Road in Madora Bay at 11.50pm but the escapee is yet to be found.

Brooks is described as 170cm tall, with a large build, hazel eyes and a fair complexion.

Police believe he may have been injured in the crash and are urging the public not to approach him.
