Fremantle Underwater Film Festival running from January 5-7

FREMANTLE residents will get a taste of everything oceanic as part of the Fremantle Underwater Film Festival (FUFF) from January 5 to 7.

Featuring underwater short films from around the world opening night will include an Eco Fashion Show showcasing environmentally ethical fashion, swimwear and designers.

Festival day on the Sunday will include market stalls, food vendors, “mermaid Sharnah” and an ocean art exhibit.

Creator Tania Douthwaite said she wanted to make people aware of what was happening in our oceans.

“The reason for this event in Fremantle is that the local public needs to see what is happening in our oceans,” she said.

“Hopefully they will feel something and then be inspired to enact positive change for our planet.”
