ONE of Fremantle’s West End buildings has had the life blown back into it with a makeover and a new business calling it home.
The multiple-level World of Renovation store has moved into the former Union Bank of Australia at 86 High Street, giving locals a one-stop-shop for all the things they need to revamp their own home or business.
World of Renovation chief executive Sasha deBretton said they were relying on the ‘bricks and mortar’ shop model for success.
“There is a strong business case for opening a bricks and mortar renovation store,” she said.
“People want to look, they want to touch and they want advice about how to renovate their home.
“People are time-poor and they don’t want to spend their weekends driving up and down the freeway matching tiles in one shop to a kitchen in another and the paint colour at the hardware store.
“World of Renovation in Fremantle will be the flagship store for this new retail concept and I have a vision to expand nationally.”
Fremantle mayor Brad Pettitt said the new store was a step to improving Fremantle’s retail situation.
