Fremantle’s Donate without doubt fundraiser collects more than $12,000 for homeless

WITH homelessness in the spotlight this week, the local Donate without doubt fundraiser reached a big milestone.

The joint initiative between the City of Fremantle, St Patrick’s Community Support Centre and Fremantle Police has been running since early 2016 and invites locals, visitors and tourists to drop a donation into one of five collection boxes around the CBD.

The money collected is then matched by the City and donated to St Patrick’s to be used in programs addressing homelessness in Fremantle.

During Homlessness Week last week Fremantle mayor Brad Pettitt announced they had surpassed the $12,000 mark and were pushing closer to the next big milestones of $15,000 and $20,000.

“The Donate without doubt campaign allows St Patrick’s to provide vital services to those in need,” he said.

“Spare change collection boxes placed throughout the CBD provide a convenient and effective way of donating and all donations are matched dollar for dollar by the City of Fremantle.

“These donations help provide emergency relief, housing, meals, education and health service.”
