The day began with the dawn service at Monument Hill where the early risers stood in silence and remembered the fallen.

This was followed by the Anzac Day morning tea, the annual Anzac Day parade through the streets of Fremantle and the Sir Hughie Edwards Anzac Day derby between South Fremantle and East Fremantle football clubs.
