Freo Now chair Karl Bullers said recent research of 150 Fremantle businesses 90 per cent would prefer the BID model to continue.

“We believe that local businesses are going to need our support even more now with the level of construction works and the current economic climate,” he said.

“Under the new structure we are a truly independent organisation, owned and operated by the business community and as such we are planning on extending the service across all Fremantle businesses and not just the CBD.”

The Freo Now Board comprises of chair Karl Bullers (National Hotel), treasurer Mark Douglas (Francis A Jones), secretary Chad Milward (Blue Buddha), Julie Morgan, Clint Clarke (Port Jarrah) and Samantha Reece (Catalyst 2 Success).

The group will officially launch on July 27.
