Freo turns purple for Dockers

Jessica NicoFremantle Gazette

FREMANTLE will be turning purple again to celebrate the Fremantle Dockers making the AFL finals.

The City of Fremantle will be looking to spread the support by installing 40 big "Go Freo" banners around the city, as well as painting the Cappuccino Strip purple.

Fremantle mayor Brad Pettitt said the city would again host an all-ages street party with big screens should the team make the grand final following the success of the 2013 event.

"The City of Fremantle is going all out making sure the city is dressed in as much purple as possible and if the Dockers make it all the way, well close South Terrace to traffic and host the country's biggest and best AFL Grand Final street festival," he said.
