THE work of a local veterinary team which removed a fish hook from an oblong turtle rescued in Bibra Lake has gained the attention of an international name.

Staff from Murdoch University’s Veterinary Hospital took more than an hour to remove the hook from the turtle, affectionately named Paris Hilton.

The real Paris Hilton read about it and tweeted “Wishing Paris Hilton the turtle a speedy recovery” to her 13.5 million followers.
