UPCYCLING, recycling and a whole lot of community spirit will be widespread as local residents come together for a massive community garage sale.

More than 30 stalls selling household items, antiques, clothes, bric-a-brac, art, handmade items and a raft of other things will pop up near South Beach for the community-run Garage Sale Trail event.

Organiser Louise Towler said there would also be plenty of fun activities, including music, a mini fashion show, a fancy dress parade for dogs and dancing.

“It’s free, it’s dog and bike friendly, we have food and coffee and we have even thought of something for the blokes – beer tasting,” she said.

“I think it is essential to build strong communities that know each other and can look out for each other, we are all working as a team, it brings out the best in everyone.”

The South Beach Huge Garage Sale is on October 22 from 9am to 2pm on South Beach Promenade.
