Grain truck rollover causes traffic chaos in East Fremantle

Jon BassettFremantle Gazette

A TRUCK carrying grain has rolled at the intersection of Stirling Highway and High Street, East Fremantle, about 11am this morning.

“This guy came round the corner and wasn’t going that fast at all, but his back wheels on the rear trailer rose up as if his load had shifted and threw him over into that corner,” witness Tony Stangi said.

Police said the driver had suffered only soft-tissue injuries.

However, the weight is preventing the truck from being righted, and a large vacuum cleaner is now being used to put the grain in another truck.

Police said they anticipated the intersection will be closed until at least 3pm and for all traffic to avoid the area.
