Ms Kleinhenz says she decided to give up the role because her professional life required more attention.

She will remain a member and encouraged local residents to drop in on one of the group’s monthly meetings.

‘The HHCG is an important entity for Hamilton Hill in that we have formed excellent relationships with the City of Cockburn who have welcomed and supported our submissions for improving our suburb,’ she said.

‘On one hand it’s a vehicle to get things done, but it also represents an opportunity for residents to get to know each other over a cuppa, sharing stories and catching up on what’s happening in the suburb.’

The group, which aims to foster a sense of community and beautify the suburb, has worked to install street lighting, footpaths, trees, park facilities and cycling paths.

Meetings are held at East Hamilton Hill Primary School on the third Wednesday of the month at 6.30pm.
