Hosted by the Esplanade Hotel, the Big Fremantle Shave will see representatives from the City of Fremantle, Chamber of Commerce and the South Fremantle Football Club, as well as local residents, opt to shave or colour their hair to raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation.

Having raised $2000 last year, Esplanade Hotel general manager Blair Wallace said they had upped the ante with a $5000 goal for 2016.

“We feel that it’s something small that we can do to help a very deserving charity; the Leukaemia Foundation receives no ongoing government funding,” he said.

“Money raised will be used to find life-saving treatments and provide free emotional and practical support such as accommodation for regional families who need to move to the city for treatment.”
