Heritage award to passionatebunch

The group jointly took out the Outstanding Contribution to Heritage by a Community-based Organisation category with the WA Indigenous Tourism Operators’ Council.

The awards honour the leading contributors to heritage conservation, adaptive reuse, promotion, tourism and interpretation in Western Australia.

A record 50 finalists from metropolitan and regional WA were chosen from 81 nominations in 11 categories.

Museum officer Christine Elaine said the team were a passionate bunch deserving of the award. ‘They religiously man the museum and are really great at bringing history alive,’ she said. ‘You definitely couldn’t call them boring.

‘They make all the exhibits refreshing and are beautifully displayed. The team are really passionate about history.’
