History passed to Fremantle Dockers women

THE Fremantle Dockers Women’s side has been welcomed into the City of Cockburn with a historic photograph of female football players in the 1920s.

Cockburn chief executive Stephen Cain said the large framed print, which he found out recently features his grandmother, was a nod to what the Fremantle players were doing now for women in sport.

“This generation of women from 100 years ago united to become trailblazers and role models,” he told the group.

“While your team will know defeat and victory, you are now the game-changers who will be role models for the next generation.”
