Impact leads the way

Launched last year, the fundraising initiative asks 100 members of the community to donate $1000 each, with the funds then pooled together and a $100,000 grant offered to a local not-for-profit organisation working in the area.

Last year, Dismantle was awarded the grant to help with its work using bicycles to help youth connect better with their community.

This year’s theme is Mental Wellbeing and Homelessness, and Fremantle Foundation executive officer Dylan Smith said the five finalists all played big roles in helping people in the community experiencing mental illness or homelessness.

‘Mental wellbeing and homelessness is a huge issue for Fremantle and these organisations are all remarkable,’ he said.
