NOT one, but hundreds of Santas will be coming to town for the annual Variety Santa Fun Run next week.
The move from its Fremantle home for the past few years to Leederville has not stopped local resident Olivia Roper from wanting to don the red suit and raise money for sick children.
Last year’s event had more than 1200 Santas running through the streets of Fremantle, raising more than $45,000.
Ms Roper said her work with children motivated her to be involved.
‘I thought this would be a great opportunity for me to raise money and make a difference in children’s lives, as well as for me to achieve goals in long-distance running for a better and healthy lifestyle,’ she said.
‘I am actually really excited for it because I am running on my own but I’m looking forward to the challenge and to make a difference.
‘We need to spread awareness for others to take part because it’s fun and exciting but it is a great reason to run for children.’
