Meeting at the Fremantle Prison twice a week, club members spend their hours working on train layouts, making improvements and, of course, running the trains.

Club secretary Graeme Campbell said ages ranged from students to retirees, who all enjoyed the friendly atmosphere of the club.

‘The club has two mature layouts (N scale and HO layout) where members undertake maintenance to keep them in working order,’ he said.

‘We also have a new layout which is still being developed where members can contribute and learn new skills along the way.

‘The club provides a friendly environment where people can meet, socialise and discuss anything ” not just trains ” as well as an opportunity to share and learn new skills which can be used at the club or at home.’

The club will hold a fundraising sausage sizzle at Bunnings Warehouse O’Connor on September 21, as well as hold a display at the Kardinya shopping centre from September 29 to October 5.
