LAKELAND Senior High School hoped to raise students mental health awareness at its Mentally Healthy expo.

The Mentally Healthy Day was organised by the school as a means to help students learn to better deal with mental health issues such as stress, anxiety and depression.

About 500 lower school students attended the day partaking in a variety of workshops including yoga and meditation.

Information sessions were run throughout the day touching on topics of cyber safety, the importance of sleep and ways to maintain and prioritise general health.

Head of Health and Physical Education Alastair Reid said he received a lot of positive feedback from students and hoped to continue running the event in the future.
