The map showed a Fremantle area that did not amalgamate with Melville, instead absorbing East Fremantle and extending south to include suburbs North Coogee and Hamilton Hill.

Fremantle Mayor Brad Pettitt said the map seemed to show Fremantle extending down to Beeliar Road in the south and Stock Road in the east and not merging with Melville.

‘While we understand this is not official, if this model is the state government’s preferred outcome we would definitely support it based on council’s long-held position that reform should be strategic and based on key activity centres,’ he said.
