Liquor Shed takes on the big boys

Mr Galati said he was confident he could make his new venture work despite the big-brand dominance within the liquor market.

‘Our confidence comes from the support and interest shown by local WA wine producers, who otherwise are struggling to get their products to market,’ he said.

‘These are mum and dad producers who produce quality premium wines, but not in the quantity desired by the major chains.

‘As a primary producer ourselves we understand the challenges they face. We have the best industry in the nation, we need to support it.’

Mr Galati has previously come under criticism for a perceived attempt to offer cheap booze, but he said he was keen to offer more than a cheap liquor outlet.
