Local youth buoyed by new facility

Staff ReporterFremantle Gazette

Local media, including the Gazette, got a tour of the new skate and parkour facility last Tuesday, with a bright red marine buoy taking pride of place in the centre of the skate bowl to show Fremantle’s ties to the sea.

Local skaters gave the facility a crack, with Fremantle Mayor Brad Pettitt jumping on a board and giving it a go.

On Sunday, the official opening kicked off with a bang, with skateboarders, BMX riders, roller derby skaters and local parkour enthusiasts giving the new facilities a whirl and holding clinics for the more curious passersby to give it a go.
