The visiting man allegedly became violent and struck the male victim with a knife, causing a laceration injury to his throat.

The victim, a 39-year-old man, was taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital by ambulance and was expected to undergo surgery.

His condition has been listed as stable.

The offender fled the scene but has since been arrested after detectives executed a search warrant at a residence in bushland in the northern suburbs on January 18.

A 23-year-old man has been charged with an unlawful attempt to kill.

He was refused bail and was due to appear in the Perth Magistrates’ Court on January 19.

The man has also been charged with several offences not related to the incident in Beaconsfield, and will appear in the same court on those charges.

He has been charged with breach of a police order, burglary and commit, and criminal damage or destruction of property in relation to an incident in Spearwood on January 16.
