POLICE have appealed for suspicious activity near East Fremantle Oval to be reported after the discovery of a dead man by his older brother at adjacent Moss Street home led to a murder investigation overnight.

"His dad and his brothers are devastated," Detective Senior Sergeant Tom Mills said.

He sad the dead man had severe injuries, but he would not comment on their nature.

Yesterday afternoon, family members called St John Ambulance to the house, which the dead man shared with his father.
