Man wanted over brutal attack on homeless man in Fremantle

POLICE are looking for a man over a brutal assault which left a homeless man with serious injuries in Fremantle.

The incident occurred near Point Street, Fremantle around 11pm on Saturday night.

The 61-year-old man was lying on the ground in a sleeping bag at the rear of an Adelaide Street business premises accessed off Point Street.

The victim was approached by a man who then assaulted him, inflicting serious injuries to his eye and face.

He was taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital where he is still being treated.

The offender is described as being fair skinned, in his 30s, approximately 167cm tall, with a medium build, long dark hair and was wearing a dark sweater.
