Man wanted over serious assault of homeless man in Fremantle

POLICE have released a composite image of a man they want to speak to over a brutal assault on a homeless man in Fremantle.

The incident occurred about 12.30am on Sunday June 3.

The 61-year-old victim was lying on the ground in a sleeping bag at the back of an Adelaide Street business premises accessed off Point Street.

The victim was approached by a man who then assaulted him, causing him to receive serious head and facial injuries.

He remains in hospital.

The offender is described as being fair skinned, between 30 and 34 years of age, approximately 167cm tall, with a medium build and dark hair.

He was wearing a dark coloured jacket.
