Mayor spruiks NBN

Mr Howlett said the NBN would make the City a better place to live, work, visit and invest in.

‘Cockburn will be front and centre-stage in innovation, development and communication thanks to the NBN,’ he said.

‘The most important asset to connect (people’s) ambitions for generations to come will be the NBN.’

Fremantle MP Melissa Parke followed a similar thought pattern to the mayor, saying the NBN was the key to Australia’s future education and productivity improvements.

A portion of work has already begun in Wattleup, while work is about to start in Leeming and North Lake. It is expected these areas will be connected by mid-2014.
