More interest in Naval Stores

Jessica NicoFremantle Gazette

Four months after agreeing to give Fremantle Sea Rescue a lease to the Signal Station, the strategic and general services committee last week deferred its decision to create a lease for local "changemakers" group Enkel to rent the Naval Stores.

Enkel's proposal to the City was to use the Naval Store as a place where independent organisations and individuals could co-operate and interact through workshops, co-|working stations, event spaces and hospitality spaces.

Shacks Holden uses the Naval Stores as a stock storage area. The leases to the Signal Station and the Naval Stores are part of the City's push to reactivate Cantonment Hill Reserve.
