A SOUTHERN suburbs bus driver who received a sweet note from a patron is yet to make contact with the woman who “made her day”.

Abi Hague-Longbottom was driving Transperth’s 532 bus route from Cockburn to Fremantle about 11am on September 2 when a young woman exiting the bus handed her a folded piece of paper.

“I think you’re doing an amazing job,” the note read.

“Stay lovely (It can and will make someone’s day).

“Have a beautiful day.

“From one Yorkshire girl to another.”

Mrs Hague-Longbottom moved to Australia from the UK five-and-a-half years ago and has driven busses for most of that time.

The Munster resident posted on social media group Cockburn Chat that the note had made her day, hoping her message would filter back to the mystery author.

Chatting to the Gazette, she said she was yet to make contact with the woman.

“She handed me the note as she got off. When I looked back she had already walked behind the bus,” she said.

“I love little things like that.

“I’m that type of person; not someone to hand notes but I like to tell people if they’re doing a good job.

“The letter was really sweet.”
