WORK to expand an oil and gas training facility in Munster began last week.

The $12 million development is stage two of South Metropolitan TAFE’s Australian Centre for Energy Process Training (ACEPT).

When finished it will offer state-of-the-art facilities for mechanical, electrical, structural and civil engineering students and add enhanced training options for the process operations sector.

“The development of stage two of the ACEPT campus will include computer labs, mechatronics and metallurgy laboratories, workshops and machine rooms, as well as two oil and gas processing simulator rooms,” Deputy Premier Liza Harvey said.
