New bus driver strikes to affect services across Perth

Leah RobertsFremantle Gazette

BUS services may be disrupted in Joondalup, Rockingham, Fremantle and CAT bus areas today and Friday after more strike action by drivers.

Transperth bus contractor Transdev has advised that some bus drivers intend to engage in two four-hour work stoppages on Thursday, October 18 from 9.30am to 1.30pm and Friday, October 19 from 3pm to 7pm.

Transperth is advising passengers to make alternative arrangements or allow extra time for their journey at those times.

School special services, regular services that deviate to schools and importantly, concert goers to Taylor Swift will not be affected.

In the Perth CBD, the Blue and Green CATs may not operate, but Red and Yellow CATs will continue to run.

Transdev employs about 1000 of the 2500 bus drivers around the metropolitan area.

Up to 20 per cent of Transdev drivers took part in the work bans last week.
