THERE is a new fitness centre in Cockburn promising the time poor the chance to fast track their exercise.

SpeedFit uses electronic muscle simulation to up the intensity of workouts.

Its backers say it can do for you in 20 minutes what hours in the gym can achieve by engaging 95 per cent of your muscles simultaneously.

The machines have been used in Europe for a number of years.

Perth Wildcats star Jermaine Beal is one local athlete to have used it.

SpeedFit founder and chief executive Matej Varhalik said it could benefit everyone because it provides a low impact, high intensity workout.

“We’ve seen everyone including grandparents, busy working mums (and) athletes sign up,” he said.

“It’s worthwhile because you’re saving time.

“People can tick the fitness box in 20 minutes a week.”

SpeedFit Cockburn opened at Gateway Shopping City in mid-June.
