New group putting Aubin Grove on map

Aubin Grove has not had community group representation since the former residents association dissolved in 2013.

But there has been a push to change that, with an AGM to be held tonight to attract new members to the Community of Aubin Grove.

President Chamonix Terblanche, a resident of the area since 2006, said Aubin Grove was one of the few suburb without a representative group looking out for the area's needs.

"Every community needs glue to hold it together and make it prosper beyond being a place you sleep and eat in, but a proper living community environment," she said.

"A residents association provides this additional level to a suburb."

She said pressing issues included the capacity of Aubin Grove Primary School, congestion around school drop-off and pick-up areas, and issues associated with the future train station.
