No ordinary holiday in Cambodia for Fremantle Early Learning Centre favourite

LOCAL children are sending their hearts to little friends overseas whom they have never met.

Children from the Fremantle Early Learning Centre (FELC) have been using craft time to make cardboard hearts, giving them to local personality Fairy Sandie to share on her recent trip to Cambodia, where she visited school students at the Samaky Village School.

Sandra McArdell, the woman behind Fairy Sandie, said it was a moving experience talking to the FELC children about how different life is for their friends in Cambodia.

“They loved the pictures of the kids in Cambodia enjoying popping bubbles just like they do,” she said.

“We talked about being thankful and the children were so responsive, it really touched my heart.”

She said the Cambodian students would also be making hearts for her to return to FELC.
