The fire burnt through 10 hectares of bushland at Pioneer Park and forced the closure of nearby roads.

Emergency services worked tirelessly to extinguish the threat, particularly after the fire flared on Tuesday afternoon.

Staff and students at Perth Waldorf School were forced to seek shelter in the school hall, with the fire right on their doorstep.

Students were able to return to school on Wednesday.

Police say the fire was a re-ignition of a fire that was first reported on the weekend.

Strike Force Vulcan officers, a special task force set up to monitor arson activity, are investigating.

It followed news a 33-year-old Success man was charged with lighting a fire on Armadale Road.

On Thursday, the Department of Fire and Emergency Services issued a bushfire advice for Munster’s south after a fire began burning near Russell Road.
