On the trail of a bargain: Garage Sale Trail

Jessica NicoFremantle Gazette

Promoting the reusing and recycling that Fremantle residents love so much, the Garage Sale Trail is a free national event where sellers can register their event and list some of the items they are selling, giving buyers the chance to plan their day around what is in their neighbourhood.

One local business taking part is Love in Tokyo on High Street, with fabric, silk, threads, clothing and accessories all up for grabs.

Owner Sheree Dornan said it was the perfect opportunity to on-sell some of their items before they moved to a new showroom at the end of the year.

“I love a good garage sale and I’m a regular market-goer, so participating in this Australia-wide event will be fun as well as a great way to move things on in a sustainable way,” she said. “It’s a fabulous community concept for both sellers and buyers to become involved in.

“Garage Sale Trail makes it a much easier and less daunting process with the support and exposure via their website in lead-up to the event.”
