The annual Garage Sale Trail event, which started on the Gold Coast four years ago, is a nation-wide push to save items from becoming landfill.

More than 300,000 Australians are expected to get involved either through hosting a stall or by visiting one.

Creating Communities’ place manager Jennelle Horsford said the town centre would be perfect for people keen to host a sale but who didn’t have the space to do so.

‘I thought hosting one here would be perfect for activating the space,’ she said.

‘It’s a great opportunity for people to come down and either sell or buy something. We’re keen to create a community vibe.’

City council will chauffeur residents via a bus to private sales, the Spearwood Library book sale, the Henderson Waste Recovery Park Recycle Shop and the giant sale at Cockburn Central.

There are 32 places available on the bus. To book call 9411 3444 or email customer@cockburn.wa.gov.au. To book a stall, email jennelle@creatingcommunities.com.au.
