One way to see Fremantle

Staff ReporterFremantle Gazette

The event started with an 11km swim at Bathers Beach, the first of five legs including cycling, trail run, paddle and port run taking competitors all around Fremantle before finishing in the Esplanade Reserve.

Event director Jason Dover said adventure races were traditionally held in semi-regional areas but that it was time to bring them to an urban environment.

‘The urban environment offers just as many challenges as a regional race so we thought, lets try it,’ he said.

‘Having the chance to race around the port city of Fremantle is unique and the competitors were blown away by the course and the scenery.’
