Fresh from a tour through Asia, the world’s fourth largest ship and the biggest to visit Australia was docked in Fremantle on Tuesday and Wednesday before setting sail for Sydney.

Able to carry more than 5000 passengers and crew, the Ovation of the Seas boasts 18 decks, a selection of retail, more than a dozen restaurants including Jamie’s Italian and an amazing Alice in Wonderland themed offering and activities such as a surf simulator, rock climbing wall, bumper cars, sports court, outdoor movie screen, music hall, theatre and casino.

It is also high-tech and state-of-the-art.

Passengers wanting a drink need only punch their beverage of choice into an iPad and a mechanical arm will put the ingredients together, mix it, pour it and serve it all in a matter of seconds.

Interactive maps stop passengers becoming lost aboard the 347m long ship and an arcade keeps the young and young-at-heart occupied for hours.

The ship also has two unique drawcards, the North Star, a capsule that lifts passengers 90m above sea level to enjoy a panoramic view, and the RipCord, a simulated skydiving experience.
