Park praised for training students

Training and Workforce Development Minister Liza Harvey said Adventure World provided solid training for many people in the tourism and hospitality sector, and also offered grounded training for people looking at other career choices.

Her comments came as 25 Adventure World trainees from across Perth were presented with certificates following completion of their Certificate II or III in tourism and hospitality.

The event was attended by trainees, their families and training providers, including Hospitality Group Training, the Australian Hotels Association and AMA Apprenticeship and Traineeship Services.

Ms Harvey said graduates would play an important role as the Government aimed to grow WA tourism from an $8.6 billion sector to $12 billion by 2020.

We need highly qualified and skilled workforce feeding into the sector, she said.
