Park’s chairlift to remain closed for investigations into breakdown

Emergency crews were called in to free park-goers after the ride stopped working just after noon on March 30. Some were stuck on the lift for a number of hours.

Adventure World staff provided food and drink to the stranded.

Mr Shaw said the health and safety of guests was his number one priority

‘Following the stoppage of the sky lift at Adventure World on Sunday, Adventure World can confirm that a full investigation into the cause of the ride fault is now taking place,’ he said.

Mr Shaw did not say whether he thought the incident would hurt park attendances, but gate numbers were up for a third successive season. The park had extended the season to include every Friday to Sunday in May and the WA Day long weekend.
