Party to draw community back to the strip

Staff ReporterFremantle Gazette

The Cappuccino Strip Street Club will be kicking off once again to celebrate the launch of the new Market Street Piazza.

Created with the help of Fremantle BID and local businesses, Fremantle councillor Rachel Pemberton said the idea was to draw locals and families back to the Cappuccino Strip and make it feel like their space once again.

‘This is community-led placemaking, which means you BYO everything,’ she said.

‘In the past we’ve had musicians jamming, paddling pools, chess games, board games knitting circles, hula hooping, chalk drawing and hopscotch, even a photo booths with costumes run by local photographers. Basically it’s anything family-friendly people want to bring along to entertain themselves, make friends and enjoy the space together.’
