Peter Rowsthorn is out of the jungle and coming to Groove Train Fremantle

AFTER surviving the jungle, Peter Rowsthorn is heading to Perth to perform ‘Out of The Jungle Comedy Night’ at the Groove Train Fremantle.

Known for his character as long-suffering husband Brett Craig on Kath and Kim, he has recently returned from South Africa, taking part in the TV series ‘I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here’.

The comedian said the experience in the jungle was a once-in-a-lifetime one and never to be repeated.

“The hardest thing about the jungle was downtime,” he said. “Days and nights were long and with no idea of the time, or even the day or date, the world really slowed down.

“Having no contact with family or news of the world is really strange, all this whilst stuck with some strangers.”

Despite all this Rowsthorn said he did learn positives about himself.

“Most surprising was my patience and bravery at times,” he said. “Turns out I’m calm under pressure.”

While in the jungle, Rowsthorn and Fiona O’Loughlin became an alias duo of ‘Ron and Brenda’ to entertain the other members of the jungle.

“The possibility of a Ron and Brenda spin off is a big one,” he said.

“We are working on that as we speak. Fiona and I will mostly likely tour together at some stage fairly soon.”

The Groove Train comedy show in Fremantle will be held for one night only, and Rowsthorn said it should be great fun.

“It is the first one back since the jungle,” he said. “It might even have a jungle question time, it could be brutal. I love Freo’ especially South Freo.

“I live just over the hill in edgy Beaconsfield. I love Freo’s sense of community, its festivals, restaurants. It feels so unique in comparison to other Perth areas.

“I’ll never leave, I’ve fallen for it hook, line and sinker.”

Tickets to the show are sold at the door.
