Musica viva ensemble, Fiddlesticks on four-week tour of Western Australia

Staff ReporterFremantle Gazette

Musica Viva ensemble Fiddlesticks showcased their skills on the guitar, violin and cello, introducing students to string music with an engaging display. Duncan Gardiner, the band’s guitarist, said the aim was to entertain and inspire.

‘Although our shows are educational, we believe that the music can transcend this aim to become something therapeutic as well,’ he said.

Phoenix Primary School’s music specialist, Judy Sakalidis, said the live show added context to what student had learnt earlier in the year.
