Planning urged for Duchenne

Staff ReporterFremantle Gazette

Conor Murphy and Kyle Scolari, both 25, died after their home lost power during the devastating storms that Monday morning.

Duchenne Foundation chairwoman Klair Bayley said the pair were dependent on round-the-clock ventilation to breath due to living with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, and that others should be prepared.

Advice includes checking equipment regularly, ensuring a working backup power system and spare batteries, considering an uninterrupted power supply device and having an intercom system.
