Police charge man over death of teenage motorcyclist in Aubin Grove

MAJOR Crash investigators have charged a 24-year-old man in relation to the death of a teenager in Aubin Grove late last year.

Mitchell Chase was on a motorcycle when he collided with a car being driven by a 49-year-old man at the intersection of Cotswold Parade and Giverny Gardens about 7.30pm on December 28.

The 15-year-old received critical injuries and died the next day in hospital.

However, police believe a second car, a Mercedes being driven by the 24-year-old Atwell resident, was also involved in the fatal crash.

The man was arrested on Thursday and charged with manslaughter, failing to report an incident occasioning death, failing to stop and provide assistance, and having no authority to drive.

He is due to appear in the Fremantle Magistrates Court on February 24.
