Major Crime Squad Detective senior sergeant Tom Mills said the man was not involved in the victim’s death.

“However he may have seen Ian just prior to him going to the bus stop where the attack occurred,” he said.

“We don’t know who this man is but we are very keen to speak to him.”

The man was wearing blue jeans and a dark top with a white horizontal stripe circling around the front and back of the shirt.

Police believe he was on a morning stroll, saying he walked along Cordelia Avenue from Coolbellup Avenue.

He then walked around the library and community centre.

Coolbellup Community Association treasurer Pip Brennan said the community was concerned the killer was yet to be found.

“We’d just like to again pass on our condolences to Mr Baz Bosch’s family,” she said.
